Day 2 with Ciarra

What a difference a good night sleep makes. Ciarra is doing great today. She slept from 8:30 until 4:30. We were already awake so not too bad for the first night. She cried a little when she first woke up and then we have seen many smiles. She ate Cheerios this morning and loved the watermelon and noodles at breakfast. We gave her warm milk from the breakfast buffet and she drank that well and even had a little juice from a cup. She loves music and pushing buttons. She has already watched Brian with the remote control and points it at the tv. If I give her a napkin she knows to wipe her face. We are probably a little partial but she seems to be very smart and imitates a lot of what we do. We will have to be careful. We do the adoption registration this morning and then the rest of the day is free. We will be making a trip to super walmart for a stroller and carrier. She is walking really well so I don't know if the carrier will last long. I want to buy her some shoes and I guess the bows will have to wait until her hair grows out. My guess is they shaved so it would be easy to care for. Tomorrow is the long drive to her home city, Qingdao for the passport work and to visit the orphanage. Pray for an easy journey tomorrow as it will be a long day for the girls. Hopefully I can get some photos of the two together.

She is just precious - what a cutie! Hopefully everything continues to go well for all of you while you are in China. Thanks for sharing your journey - it brings back lots of memories. It's amazing how well Ciarra slept and how quickly she is giving you such big smiles!

Congratulations to you and Ciarra!! The happy end to a really LONG wait. It really brings back memories to hear your stories about busy days and that rough grieving period. Glad to hear Day 2 went better. She looks like a happy little girl in the pictures! We'll be following along with you and I can't wait to show Cate the pictures of Ciarra.

Hello Millers, I just talked to Raelyn's mom and she gave us this blogspot. What a great idea. I called to check on Tanner and his car mishap. Ross Doehrmann just called to tell me. Were grateful he didn't get hurt....
Ciarra is awful cute. It will be great to get you all back. We will keep reading the blog and we look forward to talking with you. Take care of Ciarra!

We checked the web sight during our morning activities but I couldn't get our response sent, so we're a day late! No school today because of ice. The kids wanted to tell you thanks for the picture of the squatty potty! (I wish you could've seen their faces when they saw it!!) Questions for today..."Can Ciarra talk and if so what words can she say?" "Does Ciarra speak Chinnese or English?" When I ask Hannah if she would like to add anything her response was, "I miss you." Isn't it good to be loved!!! She seems to be doing fine. We keep busy so her mind is occupied while at school!! I told her she will have to bring Ciarra to school for sharing sometime! Looks like you are enjoying your new daughter! Take care. Joyce, Hannah and her Kindergarten friends
